Sorrry to hear about Dale. I remember after I got out of the service when I would come home from the bar on Friday or Saturday, he would ambush me in front of the house and we would sit in the squad car and chat for awhile. Then he disappeared.

Do you mean the current seniors at Lakeview or us more senior seniors?

Anyone that was interested in the class of 1960 - their reunion is October 16, 2010.  It is just their class not a joint reunion with any other class, I did not find out yet where it will be held.  When I find out I will post it.

Watch for e-mail with details of LHS "60 Reunion to be held on 10/16/10.  We're invited.

jeez- I just read the forum, maybe for the first time since the reunion. I've been missing a lot. Sorry all.

Dennis- All those trips to the little woodshed at Eleven Mile and Jefferson were probably unknown to most of my classmates. Somehow, we (you, me and my brother, Paul) seemed to have an affinity to trouble. What a hoot!

Len- PV is still on my horizon. We were down there three years ago and had a great time. Time permitting, we might get down there again this winter. If so, I'll let you know.

Sorry to hear about Dale. Seems like he got real reclusive several years ago. I know first-hand though, as many of you all do as well, how the "Big C" can change your life emotionally and physically. And then things like Bill S come along.

I started at South Lake when I lived first on Pleasant with my Grandparents during the War and then when we moved to our first house on Grand Lake- thanks to VA loans. Went to South Lake from kindergarten to fifth grade (with Ken Schmidt) then moved to Yale and transferred to the Lakeview District (as did Ken Schmidt). I liked Lakeview better- Mr. Lowe was a whole lot nicer than Coach Gleason (coach at South Lake).

Sorry for the silence. I will try to do better in keeping up with correspondence.

Rick

I'm probably a no-show for the 1960 gig...honestly, I cannot seem to remember a close relationship with anybody in that class, save for a comely blonde that used to flirt with me before I realized what it was that she was doing!

Just back from the northern western shores of Lake Michigan.  Beginning the process of getting the ball rolling on the Dennis Bukantis Foundation, headquartered somewhere in that vicinity. It was a real chore to start the drive back to Detroit!

From Colorado, the best to everybody!

Dennis

Hey Dennis,

I wonder if that was the same comely blond who came on to me. Or maybe that was just a dream.

LEN,

I have not been to Puerto Vallarta but to Mexico several times...once winter begins here, would be a good time to hop on a Frontier flight direct!  I'll keep you informed.

Well Tom, there were so few who actually hit on me, even though thinking back there was one female teacher who I 'dreamed' was hitting on me!  My fortune continued in a negative way..working at Caruso's Market at 11 and Harper, I fell in like with a girl who worked at the ice creme store around the corner...then she told me that she was going into the convent!

I just spent several days up in the Frankfort, Michigan area..been a long time since being there...I'm working on a non-profit entity that will likely be established in that area.  More details as they become reality.

Hey Switch...where you at?

Dennis, good to hear from you. Best wishes to you and your family and warm wishes from Florida to all former LHS grads. I have to pinch myself sometimes, I can't believe a poor Lithuanian kid from the east side of Detroit is able to spend 3 months in Florida!!!!!! the sad thing is the fish aren't biting very good, the other day we only caught 112 fish and the bad part is it took two of us 1 3/4 hrs to clean them. It sure beats cutting a hole in the ice and sitting on a bucket in a canal in St Clair Shores while freezing your butt off.

Sixty four classmates have visited our website so far in 2014. Fifty nine of these have visited since July 1. It seems that a lot of folks are looking for news but few are ready to share. C'mon guys & gals.

Some possible topics:

Renee Zellweger's face lift. Your face lift.

Your G-kids. Your G-G kids.

Ebola

Recent bad vacations.

ISIL, ISIS, IS

Respectful social commentary.

Fox hunting.

End of the world

Etc.

25 miles to the north at the ranch in China the alpacas are still on pasture till the first snow. My geese are eating a lot of corn now and the wild ones going south are stopping by for a rest and some corn, same ones every year, we will see them in the spring on there way north. The barn is full of hay still have a little to cut if we get some sun. Feeding the fish has stopped, when the temp. drops below 50 no more feeding. We are going to stop farming when we turn 80.

That 25 miles is north of St. Clair Shores to China Michigan.

Your correct, more 59'ers that are accessing the website should put out updates. Have enjoyed everyone's comments going back and forth and especially updated photo's whenever they are downloaded. Joyce and I are both healthy back here in Ct. She had both her hips replaced over the summer and I'm waiting to schedule a knee. Seems like that is in vogue these days for people our age. In August we went on a river cruise in Paris. Eight days on the Sene up to Normandy. When we returned to Paris we spent three days on our own viewing all the history the city has to offer. Its a very beautiful city. A lot of walking, but a good way to try out her new hips. Keep the news coming, really enjoy getting updates. Doug

Sure enjoy reading about everyone class of 59 and looking at all the pictures submitted..  Sorry we haven't been able to attend any of the functions, but hopefully will in the future.  Our son now lives in South Bend, IN which is just a stone throw from Michigan. Perhaps one day we'll extend our visit and drive up to St. Clair Shores at a time when reunion is planned.  Just recently sold our home in the California mountains and moved to Monterey, CA full time with a vacation home in Las Vegas.  Tom and I doing well, enjoying retirement.  Have done a lot of traveling from Hong Kong to Paris and in between.  Best wishes to all in the coming 2015.
