Dennis, good to hear from you. Check out the last Sports Illustrated, they had a great article on Lithuanian basketball players. Again, the offer still stands about visiting and staying with us if you'r ever slumming in Central Michigan!! You did miss a good time, it was good seeing former classmates, we all looked two years older than the last time we were together, all except Cookie, he looked about 10 years older (I can write that and not worry because he can't read). Well enough for now, got to rearrange my sock drawer.

I have enjoyed reading all the messages and while driving around today with my Sirus XM on the 60's station wondered if any of you had a favorite record or recording artist that you enjoyed?Someone that you can say I know exactly what I was doing when I first heard that music. I think it would be fun to hear from any class mates who will admit which one they enjoyed and what you were doing when you first heard it. There were plenty of good simple songs back in our days which are just as entertaining 50 yrs later. Doug Vagts

Doug, you want me to name you a song and what I was doing at the time????? Hell I don't remember what I had for breakfast this morning!! But some of my favorite groups or singers were the Drifters, the Platters, Sam Cook, Royal Jokers, the Mid Nighters. Hey, I would listen to anything and dance as long as Diane Jacobs would dance the Chicken with me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Must have been her sister, did I not say my memory was bad??? Jerry, thanks for the invite to the wine tasting, sounds like fun but won't be able to make it but if you want to send me a bottle I promise I will give a toast to you with every glass. I really prefer Thunder Bird or Nature boy, nothing like a chilled bottle of wine in a brown paper bag, yummy.

Jerry, wire me the $3 so I can indulge with my friend Chas Shaw, We were in Hilton Head a few yrs ago and eating at an Italian Restaurant and the featured wine of the week was Chas Shaw at $7.50 a glass. Can't imagine what it was in California. You'r correct the class of 59 is the best. Anybody want to argue????

Jerry,

In answer to your question, I took one set of pictures.  Bud took another that I haven't seen yet. Check the Home Page for mine.

Don't know why you are not in any of my pictures.  Hope this doesn't hurt your feelings.

A brief update from Denver!  I haven't been in Michigan in a spell, but I'm trying to squeeze a trip into northern Michigan before all the colour is gone.

Beautiful weather here in Colorado, now with some cool nights but warm days.  Doing a photo/hike tomorrow down into a nearby canyon.  Up and outta here in the dark to catch any possible sunrise opp.

Regarding music of our times - It was as a junior at LHS, I discovered my interest in vocal and instrumental jazz from which I've never strayed from.  The enormously popular music of the times from people like Bill Haley, Chubby Checker and Elvis were never seriously part of my culture.

I recall hanging with a few people like Ray Miller, and a couple of our female classmates like Sarah Lee and Patti Sue and digging jazz.  We definately were in the minority, but hung on to this counter-culture for what it was worth.  A few parties at Mel Michaels house on 11 Mile Road usually had this set of people on hand, a few beers and I would try and organize some jazz on the radio or LP's.

Yeah Switch, I saw that SI article and there is in my plans a trip to Vilnius and Kaunas to look at the possibility of a Lithuanian BB franchise.  Arv Sabonis is a mover and shaker in Lithuania as is Sarunas Marciolionis, although I understand the two are not exactly compatible.  Even with his poor physical health when he came to the Blazers, Arv was one of the best big men players in the game.  Someday, it is quite likely there will be a euro NBA...this is the logical place for expansion.

All the very best to my LHS friends!

Tonight is Lakeviews Homecoming game vs Clintondale at 7:00 PM. The parade comes west down 11 mile starting at 6:00. If you go to the game check out my grandson, Connor Luke #62. He is a 10th grader and starts at offensive center, not that I'm not too proud of him!!!!

Anybody know what happened at Lakeview yesterday around 10:30 in the morning?  As I was passing the school I counted about 4 or 5 EMS vehicles and a couple of fire engines.  The student parking lot looked like it still had cars in it so I don't think there was an evacuation.
